There's a couple things you can do when someone comes at you with a blunt weapon. You can:
A) run like hell, or
B) be an idiot and try to get in as close as you can as fast as you can before they can hit you with the end of the weapon.

Of course Darla picks B. She ain't gonna be seen running away like a pussy, even if the enemy is twice her weight.

and after you get in real close, you uh, well. I don't think she thought this through very well.
